재정패널조사를 통해 가구별 예적금, 펀드 등 포트폴리오 구성에 영향을 미치는 변수를 살펴본다. 금융자산별 보유금액에 대한 토빗(tobit)모형을 추정한 결과, 가구의 경상소득과 보유 주택자산의 가치가 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 소득변수가 음의 영향을 미치는 금융자산으로 주택관련 금융상품을 들 수 있다. 가구가 보유하고 있는 주택의 시장가치가 커질수록 주택금융상품 보유금액이 늘어나는 점을 고려하면, 경상소득의 증가는 이 금융상품에 대한 투자를 증가시키지 않음을 시사한다. 가구의 포트폴리오(portfolio) 구성 선택에서, 우리나라 가구는 주택자산의 가치가 높을수록 금융자산 보유금액도 같이 늘린다는 사실을 확인할 수 있다. 이에 해당하는 자산으로 펀드, 주식, 보험, 주택관련상품 등을 들 수 있다. 보유금액뿐만 아니라 보유여부에 영향을 미치는 요인도 살펴보았다. 금융시장에서의 가계 위험부담행위에 영향을 미치는 정부의 정책은 우리나라에서 주로 부동산시장을 통한 간접적 효과로 나타남을 알 수 있다. 이러한 논의는 향후 조세 등 정부정책이 가계의 위험부담행위에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 살펴보는데 있어 중요한 근거자료를 제공한다. 향후, 금융자산 보유와 소비지출에 이르는 가구행태에 일반 거시경제변수나 가구특성 변수를 추가할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study explores the factors that affect financial assets owned by household. We used National Survey of Tax and Benefit(NaSTab). The empirical findings suggest that income(including tax) and house have significant effects on asset allocation decisions. By estimating Tobit regression model for solving inconsistency problem of OLS, we find the statistical significance of current income of household and the value of real estates such as houses. In special, the ownership of mortgage-related asset is negatively associated with the level of income. In addition to amount of asset holding, the probability that a household owns (mutual) funds, equity, saving and pension insurance, and various mortgages is also positively associated with the value of housing of household. In future research, we can examine more accurately the effect on risk taking behavior of the change in (marginal) income tax rate by government. We need more data such as general macroeconomic variable, additional household characteristics and distribution of tax exemptions.
