Legal regulations related with prostitution-promoting sites under the current law in our country are carried out using punishment clauses for advertisements according to Clause 20 of Punishment for Sexual Trafficking Act. And it was evaluated that an appropriate system was established in legally regulating prostitution-promoting sites like ‘War in the Night’ and it was actually confirmed that judicial authorities were punishing relevant illegal behaviors according to this clause. That said, the more important issue than satisfaction of the condition of being perfectly equipped with legal system is how the current well-prepared laws are enforced properly. But the study believes what turns out as a severe problem is that in reality, crackdown and investigation related with prostitution are not conducted in a consistent way, whereas legal enforcement is done anyway. In other words, in order to prevent the promotion and spread of cyber sexual trafficking, discussion on application and revision of the current law system is not enough, and what needs more in-depth discussion is how to strengthen execution power to regulate prostitution. We had better work out more effective skills to prevent prostitution, by discussing, for instance, the use of entrapment against soliciting for prostitution, further implementation of compensation for reporting prostitutions, consideration of extra-territorial search and seize for digital evidences, the use of taskforce team to investigate cyber sexual trafficking. Therefore, the next study is going to mainly deal with effective investigation skills to prevent and root out prostitution-related crimes including prostitution-promoting sites ultimately.
