Each year, new demand for services is created and the portion of the service industry in the national economy is increasing. The nation's central government is working on various policies to strengthen competitiveness in order to increase the added value of the service industry and job creation, which is lower than those of advanced countries, while Busan and other local governments are also stepping up efforts to revitalize the service industry. This study analyzed the economic ripple effects of the service industry in the Busan area by utilizing the regional industry association table. The production inducement effect, value-added inducement effect, and employment inducement effect were analyzed through the analysis of the chain effect between industries, and the degree of interdependence between industrial sectors was determined by analyzing the response factor and the influence factor, and the economic ripple effect was also analyzed. According to the analysis, the value-added inducement effect and the employment inducement effect were found to be very high in the service sector. According to the results of a chain effect analysis between industries, the Busan service industry was analyzed to be affected rather than affecting other industries in general, and the Busan service industry was analyzed to have a greater effect of net inflow of value into the local economy. This research can be used as basic data for the establishment of vitalization policies, such as the establishment of a basic plan for the service industry in Busan or the establishment of measures to nurture it. In particular, the analysis of net value-added transfers is expected to provide various implications for the service industry in Busan as it analyzes the value-added transfer process that has not been done so far.
