Predicting Intentions to Engage in Birding Trips Using Birdwatching Involvement , Commitment , and Past Experience

.The study objective was to conceptualize and test a model for investigating the roles of involvement, commitment, and past experience in explaining intentions to go on birding trips to a birding trail (The Trail). This model consisted of five components: social-psychological involvement, behavioral involvement, commitment, past experience to go on birding trips to The Trail, and intentions to go on birding trips to The Trail. According to results of path analysis, intentions to go on birding trips to The Trail were strongly predicted by commitment, behavioral involvement, and past experience. Findings of this study suggested the relative efficacy of these measures or concepts in predicting intentions to engage in birding trips to The Trail.
