초록
Children fall before school age is one of the main causes of damage. This study analyzed the characteristics of children patients admitted to fall-down injuries. It was evaluated according to the age groups and the happen-places. We used Korean National Hospital Discharge In-depth Injury data on the discharged from 2013 to 2017. We examined the frequency and compared the fall-related factors with a chi-square test. Under 8 age, 819 children were admitted to the hospital. The children were classified by age(infant, toddler, and preschooler) and happen-places(residence, public building, school, commercial area, unknown). Infants were frequently injured in the head and face, muscle and tendon in their residential areas in the spring. Toddlers were injured in the head, facial and upper extremity. Preschoolers were injured in the upper extremity. The fracture was the most common type for toddlers and preschoolers. They usually got hurt in summer, but the latter also did in autumn at unknown places. As a result, it can be seen that the place where the damage occurs, the location of the injury, and the severity occur differently depending on the age. Therefore, the damage prevention guidelines should be changed according to the age and place.
