블록체인 기술과 저작권 제도 간의 접점

It is a transitional period when the evaluation of blockchain technology is mixed. This study is based on the presumption that blockchain is a challenging technology that helps to change the distribution structure and flow of the contents industry more fairly and efficiently as a content-friendly technology, and gives a clue or alternative to solving various problems facing the contents copyright industry. Looking at the contact point between the blockchain technology and the copyright system as a challenging technology that can provide and examine the necessity and usefulness of its use. To this end, we first looked at the content-friendly technical features and functions of the blockchain, pointed out the problems of the current copyright industry ecosystem and its circulation structure, and then looked for possibilities and contact points where the blockchain technology would supplement or emerge as an alternative. Blockchain aims at Immutable, Transparent, Decentralized, and Consensus based on Encrypted, and it is utilized through Programmable like Smart Contract. It is a technology that can implement a service that expands the scope. Considering these characteristics, we reviewed the use of records on the blockchain to improve the creative ecosystem of the work, to verify the authors, and to verify the copyright generation system, and to examine the possibility of forming and replacing the international copyright registration system. Furthermore, the blockchain has an effect on the current copyright management system, and we have explored the possibility of an alternative to the blockchain that can overcome the limitations and problems of the current digital copyright management system (DRM), and also have an effect on the centralized copyright management system. In addition, we reviewed the possibility of the blockchain as a means to solve the problems of orphan works and using the liquidation of the copyrighted assets by blockchain as a asset-based tokens. Lastly, with regard to the security and tracking functions of the blockchain, we examined the blockchain as a means to strengthen copyright protection and rights relief. In other words, the usefulness as evidence and the advantages of dispute resolution through prevention of infringement are the examples.
