초록
Financial technology (Fintech) has recently been the focus of considerable attentions. Although the development of Fintech is still in its early stages, many researchers believe that Fintech can reshape the future of the financial services industry and can increase participations by those who have until recently been unserved. Despite the intense competition in the financial market, the complexity of Fintech adoption and use by customers is still unexplored. In this study, we propose a different, holistic model, which posits that Fintech use behavior does not depend on individual service attributes, but on specific configurations of such attributes. In addition, we posit that information technology (IT) influences Fintech use intentions. The good alignment between core attributes of Fintech and IT quality leads to improved Fintech use. On the basis of the diffusion of innovation theory and configurational theory, we will investigate this conceptual model using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis, which is new to service research and suitable for configuration analyses. The findings will support the interdependencies among various innovation attributes, which should be considered to obtain a deeper understanding of Fintech use behavior. This study will contribute to managerial practice by providing new insights for improving the Fintech development process and launch strategies for improving Fintech use.
Abstract
Financial technology (Fintech) has recently been the focus of considerable attentions. Although the development of Fintech is still in its early stages, many researchers believe that Fintech can reshape the future of the financial services industry and can increase participations by those who have until recently been unserved.
