연구장비산업의 비즈니스 생태계 모형 개발 및 사례 분석

Korea has led industrial development and economic growth for the past 50 years through a chasing R&D strategy that mimics and learns the science and technology of overseas advanced countries. However, the chasing R&D strategy has increased the external dependence of materials, parts and equipment, which are the main means of domestic research and industry. This began to appear as a limitation of today's global market competition. Now is the time to move away from the past and to switch to a leading R&D strategy. To this end, it is necessary to change domestic research equipment promotion policies to refrain from purchasing foreign products and promote the development and production of own research equipment in the future. Therefore, this study is an effort to provide a basic framework for such a policy change. In the study, we developed the business ecosystem model of the research equipment industry to easily explain stakeholders of industry/academia/research, the interactions among them, and roles & functions. Moreover, we tried to present policy implications of science technology and equipment development industry by analyzing actual open R&D and related coevolution cases. In particular, this study applies Moore(1993)'s business ecosystem theory to develop the ecosystem model, and examines the cases of technology transfer & commercialization of government-contributed research institutes and equipment manufacturers for the model verification.
