패션에 나타난 폐플라스틱을 재활용한 디자인 사례연구

초록
본 연구의 목적은 패션 시장의 섬유 생산 시스템이 지금까지의 선형적 구조에서 벗어나 순환형 구조로 나아감에 핵심적인 역할을 할 섬유 재활용의 사례에 대해 분석하고자 한다. 그중에서도 환경오염에큰 영향을 미치는 플라스틱 폐기물을 재활용하는 패션 제품들을 분석함으로써 시대에 들어맞는 디자인 개발을 위한 기반을 마련하는 것에 의의를 두고자 한다. 이를 위해 모든 제품을 분해할 수 있는 방식으로 제조하고 이를 생산으로 다시 돌려 자원으로 재구성되고 산업적으로 다시 활용될 수 있도록하는 순환 경제의 개념에 대해 고찰하였다. 다음으로 폐플라스틱을 재활용한 섬유의 사례를 패션 제품으로 연구하기 위해 플라스틱 폐기물의 섬유화 과정을 연구하고, 이러한 섬유를 활용하는 다양한 기업과 디자이너 브랜드의 사례를 조사하고 분석하였다. 이러한 분석 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 버진 플라스틱의 사용이 주는 환경오염과 사회적 문제를 극복하고 소비자들의 가치 소비 성향에맞춰 의류 재료에 대한 혁신적인 변화가 일어나고 있다. 두 번째, 기존의 플라스틱을 생산하는데 발생하는 오염에서 벗어나기 위해 소싱 업체의 환경 문제를 도와 생산 시스템에서부터 지속가능한 프로세스를 유지하도록 하는 협력 시스템의 구축이다. 세 번째, 지속가능한 디자인을 위해 단순히 재활용 소재를 사용하는 데 있는 것이 아니라 소비 가치와 디자인성에 맞는 창의적이고 개성 있는 디자인으로의 영역 확장이다. 마지막으로 100% 완전한 순환 경제 시스템을 위한 제품 사용 수명주기의 연장에대한 업체들과 소비자의 노력이다. 이를 위해서는 소비자의 인식 변화와 기업들의 적극적인 참여가 필요하다. 본 연구는 향후 섬유 패션 시장의 다양한 지속가능한 재활용 제품 개발을 위한 방법을 찾기위한 기초자료로 활용되어 다양한 디자인 연구로 이어지는 초석이 되길 바란다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze examples of textile recycling in which the textile production system in the fashion market will play a key role in moving away from the linear structure so far to the circular structure. Most of all, it means that it will lay the groundwork for developing designs suitable for the times by analyzing fashion products that recycle plastic waste that greatly affect environmental pollution. To this end, we considered the concept of the circular economy that would manufacture all products in a way that could be dismantled and then redirect them back to production so that they could be reconstructed into resources and reused industrially. Next, in order to study the case of fiber recycled waste plastic as a fashion product, the process of fiberization of plastic waste was studied, and cases of various companies and designer brands utilizing these fibers were investigated and analyzed. The results of this analysis are summarized as follows. First, innovative changes in clothing materials are taking place to overcome environmental pollution and social problems caused by the use of Virgin plastic and to meet consumers' propensity for value consumption. Second, it is the establishment of a cooperative system that helps maintain and source sustainable processes from the production system in order to break away from pollution arising from existing plastic production. Third, it is not only about using recycled materials for sustainable design, but also expanding its scope to creative and individual designs tailored to consumption values and design. Finally, it is the efforts of companies and consumers to extend the life cycle of product use for a 100% complete Circular Economy. This requires changes in consumer awareness and active participation by companies. It is hoped that this research will be used as a basis for exploring ways to develop various sustainable recycling products in the textile fashion market in the future, leading to various design studies.
