기업가치를 평가하는 과정에서 무형자산으로 간주되는 IP(intellectual property, 지적재산) 활용의 중요성이 높아지고 있는 추세다. 한정된 자원으로 경쟁해야 하는 기술개발형 중소기업은 IP를전략적으로 활용해야 경쟁우위를 확보할 수 있다. 이렇듯 IP 활용의 중요성이 높음에도 불구하고IP 활용이 기업 성과에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구는 부족했다. 본 연구는 기술개발형 중소기업의IP 활용이 학습과 성장, 내부 프로세스 개선, 고객만족, 그리고 재무성과로 이루어진 BSC(balanced scorecard, 균형성과평가제도)에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것이 목적이다. 연구결과 IP활용은 학습과 성장을 높이고 내부 프로세스를 개선시켜 고객만족도를 높여 재무성과를 달성하는 것으로 나타났다. IP를 적극적으로 활용하는 기업들은 대부분 사업화 초기 단계에 있는 기술개발형 기업들이다. 이러한 기업들은 수익성과 효율성이 검증되지 않아 IP 활용에 대한 회의론이부각되기도 했으나 본 연구결과를 통해 기술개발형 중소기업들의 IP 활용 매뉴얼을 제시할 수있다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 이상의 논의에 근거해 학술적, 실무적 시사점을 제안했다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the relationship between utilizations of intellectual property and balancedscorecard performance of innovative small-medium sized business. The results of this study are asfollows: First, the utilizations of intellectual property of firms have a positive effect on innovation &learning and internal business perspective. Second, the innovation & learning affects customersatisfaction significantly, wheres it affects financial perspective performance non significantly. Third,the internal business perspective affects customer satisfaction significantly, wheres it affects financialperspective performance non significantly. Finally, the customer satisfaction has a positive effect onfinancial perspective performance. As a result of theses empirical analysis, it was found that theutilization of intellectual property rights affects the business performance of innovative small-mediumsized company, The findings of this research contribute to provide practical implications on the IPmanagement. In the process of this study, we had the following limitations, and suggest ways toraise the level of research in the future.
