초록
Considering the relatively short history of ‘Space Design’ as a separate research topic, the social-economical importance and industrial impact of ‘Space Design’ are getting increased and accordingly, scholarly attentions on ‘Space Design’ are also constantly growing. However, despite of the mounting attentions, the explorations of the ‘Space Design’ research to understand the research trend and authorship patterns are rare. This article is an effort to fill the gap. Thus, this study aims to comprehend the research trend and patterns of Korean ‘Space Design’ research mainly from the research productivity and authorship and collaboration patterns. To that end, we focused on three typical domestic journals about ‘Space Design’ ― Journal of the Korean Institute of Culture Architecture, Korean Institute of Interior Design Journal and Journal of Korea Institute of Spatial Design ― which are accredited in Korean Citation Index. 3,853 articles published in these journals and the 3,244 individual authors serve the context of this study. Various bibliometric methods which are based on quantitative analyses were applied on those articles. In specific, research productivity, characteristics of contents, author properties and authors’ collaboration patterns were examined.
