It is important to note that remittances are the result of a global inflow and outflow network. The purpose of this study was to analyze the dynamic changes of the structure and determinants of the remittance network of migrant workers using the social network analysis. The key research results are as follow. First, the remittance network among the analyzed countries is being concentrated, and the high-income countries group and North America showed high influence and dominance. Second, the broker’s role analysis showed that high-income country group had an overwhelming number of times of intermediary roles within and between the groups compared to those in the low-income countries by income groups. Meanwhile, Europe and Central Asia had the largest number times of intermediary roles based by regional groups. Additionally, South Asia had the highest ratio of inter-group roles to inner-group brokerage roles, while Latin America and Caribbean had the lowest roles. Third, the results of continuous homophily analysis and analysis of determinants of the remittance network showed that the more identical exchange rate system, regional, political efficiency, and social efficiency, the more likely the remittance network is to expand, and the more similar in the size of the economy, the more the network shrinks. Since this study addresses the remittance linked to international labor mobility, we can suggest implications for policy makers in developing and developed countries in terms of international cooperation and economic growth of developing countries through international labor mobility.
