동태패널모형을 이용한 인도관광수요 결정요인 분석

본 연구는 2004년부터 2017년까지 48개국을 대상으로 인도 관광수요에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대하여 동태적 패널모형을 이용하여 실증분석 하였다. 분석결과 인도 방문객의 1인당 실질 GDP와 영연방 더미는 통계적으로 유의한 양(+)의 부호를 가지며 교통비와 상대가격은 통계적으로 유의한 음(-)의 부호를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 환율은 통계적으로 유의하지 않은 것으로 밝혀졌다. 한편 인도 방문객의 시차변수에 대한 추정계수는 통계적으로 유의한 양(+)의 부호를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 종합해보면 인도 방문 광관객의 실질 소득 증가와 방문객의 국적이 영연방국가에 속할 경우 인도의 관광수요에 긍정적인 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 여행교통비의 증가와 인도내의 여행 경비의 증가는 인도의 관광수요에 부정적인 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 실증분석 결과 관광습관가설을 지지하는 것으로 나타나 질적인 서비스 수준의 향상이 인도 관광수요에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌다.
Abstract
This study empirically analyzes the factors influencing the tourism demand for India from 48 countries over the period 2004-2017 by using the Dynamic Panel Model. The results showed that the per capita real GDP and the Commonwealth dummy of visitors to India had statistically significant effects with a positive sign, while the transportation cost and relative prices had statistically significant effects with a negative sign. Foreign Exchange rates were found to be insignificant. On the other hand, the estimated coefficients for lag variables of tourists were found to be positive signs. The increase in real income of visitors to India and the nationality of visitors have positive effects on tourism demand for India. On the other hand, the increases in transportation cost and in travel expenses in India have negative effects on tourism demand for India. In addition, the empirical analysis shows that it supports the Tourism Habit Persistence Hypothesis. Improvements in quality service levels have been found to have positive impacts on tourism demand for India.
