초록
이 연구는 북한의 대표적인 문법서인 <조선어형태론>(2005)의 ‘토’에 관한 기술을 남한 문법적 시각에서 해석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이 연구는 북한과 남한 문법의 체제 비교보다는 북한 문법의 세부 기술에 대하여 남한 문법 연구의 관점에서 상세하게 살피는 데에 중점을 두었다. 북한의 문법은 문법 형태의 기능을 중요시하는 반면 남한의 문법은 문법 형태의 범주적 지위를 바탕으로 문법 기술을 한다는 차이점을 가지고 있다. 북한은 접사나 어미, 조사 등의 토가 어근에 결합하여 어떠한 기능을 한다는 공통점에 주목하고 남한은 접사나 어미, 조사의 형식적인 차이점에 주목하여 이를 별개의 범주로 기술하고 있다. 이러한 차이는 북한 문법이 이론적 성향의 연구보다는 실천적 연구, 즉 실용에 더 초점이 있기 때문으로 보인다. 본고는 체계상으로 북한의 토문법이 남한 문법과 상당히 다르게 보이지만 세부 문법 기술 내용에서는 일맥상통하는 부분이 많다는 결론을 얻었다. 이론적 배경이나 체계의 차이보다 동일한 언어를 대상으로 하는 데에서 기인한 구조적인 공통점이 발견되는 것이다. 남한과 북한 문법의 체계 및 기술 내용의 차이와 공통점을 기술하는 것은 통일 문법의 체계를 정립하는 이론적인 기반이 될 수 있을 것으로 본다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the description of ‘to(토)’ in the representative grammar book of North Korea, Joseoneo Hyeongtaelon(Korean Morphology), from grammatical perspectives in South Korean. This study was based on the results of previous studies but focused on examining detailed descriptions in detail from the perspective of South Korean grammar studies rather than system comparison. North Korean grammar places importance on the function of grammatical morphemes, but South Korean grammar describes grammar based on the categorical status of grammatical morphemes. This difference seems to be due to the fact that North Korean grammar focuses more on practical studies, that is, practical studies rather than studies of theoretical tendencies. In this paper, North Korea's 'to'-grammar looks quite different from South Korean grammar on the surface, but it is concluded that there are many parts in common in detailed grammar description. Rather than differences in theoretical backgrounds or systems, structural commonalities that target the same language are found. These results are expected to be the theoretical basis for establishing the system of Unified Grammar.
