대학 통일교육의 의미와 정책적 지향점

As of 2020, for college students, unification and North Korea are trying to hardly get much attention unless they are conducive to their livelihood, that is, employment. Therefore, this article noted that unification education for college students in their twenties should reflect their generational characteristics and change their direction to personal and everyday approaches. To this end, this article proposed the following four new directions for unification education for college students in their twenties. First, it is necessary to establish unification education based on the perspective of peace. Second, it is desirable to aim at ‘coexistence of heterogeneous’ rather than ‘unification’ as a new value of inter-Korean communication. Third, it is necessary to recognize and enjoy unification through a personal and everyday approach. Fourth, there is a need for an education method that takes into account the characteristics of the generations in their 20s. However, in order to realize the goal of unification education for college students in their twenties proposed in this article, it is necessary to revise the current 「Unification Education Support Act」. In addition, in terms of policy, it is desirable for university students in their twenties to provide an institutional mechanism to reflect their voices and interests in the goals, values, contents, and teaching methods of unification education they will receive. This is because it is the key to planning and designing unification education for university students in their twenties, opening up the space to establish themselves as both beneficiaries and providers of unification education.
