테러리스트 급진화에 대한 조직행동론적 분석과 정책적 대안: Tuckman의 집단발달 이론의 적용

Terrorism by extremists who are deceived by or followed by terrorist organizations’ agitation is frequently occurring. Accordingly, we need to research on the antisocial attitudes and belief formation process of individual terrorists. This study is theoretically based on the research on terrorist radicalization, which has focused on the relationship between psychological, social, and environmental variables of individuals, the process of terrorist formation of extreme beliefs. In particular, the possibility of using Tuckman's Team Development Model (TDM) as a theoretical alternative to the analysis of the radicalization process of terrorist organizations and individual terrorists was discussed. Organizational behavior theory can explain and analyze the process of changing attitudes and perceptions of individuals who are oriented towards terrorist organizations and accept their ideology. As a result of the study, we found that organizing and radicalization of terrorists were similar to the mechanism of the TDM. If the characteristics of social and psychological factors that delay and hinder organizational development are used to prevent the formation of terrorist groups and the radicalization of terrorists, they can also be used to establish a terror prevention strategy and policy. This study is significant in that it has conducted a new theoretical analysis on the radicalization of terrorists and suggested policy implications in the process of establishing a terrorist prevention policy.
