Beauty design is positioned as an art work area in which individual creativity and originality can be freely displayed and as the area of expression gradually expands. It is widely developed through convergence with various fields. Accordingly, various works designed pictorially by perceiving the human body as a visual space have recently been presented. The development of expression techniques and patterns that can enhance artistic value is required. Therefore, this study presents a beauty design using watercolor expression techniques by focusing on floral patterns. The research method was only applied only to the face among human body parts for beauty design, and the work was developed by grafting flower patterns with illustrations using watercolor techniques. Four works were produced by applying a technique utilizing the organic characteristics of water in watercolor. By expressing floral patterns as illustrations using watercolor techniques, the development direction of various beauty designs could be presented. The results derived through theoretical consideration, analysis, and work research are as follows. First, the various painterly technique of watercolors are based on creativity and can be used in modern beauty design expressing art make-up. Second, as a result of applying watercolor techniques to flower patterns, we were able to create original beauty designs. Third, it was possible to confirm the possibility of developing material expression that offers a new visual effect in the beauty field. This study is meaningful in suggesting the possibility of creative expression techniques of beauty design and suggesting various expressions.
