기본소득 제도의 도입에 대한 사회적 인식과 정책적 시사점

In these days, discussions on basic income are emerging as a way to resolve the economic inequality that exists behind rapid economic growth around the world. Though previous research is conducted from the viewpoint of the characteristics of basic income and the policy design, research on analyzing social perceptions of basic income and discussing appropriate policy directions is not enough. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the possibility of introducing the basic income system by conducting a survey on the social perception on basic income. As a survey result of 905 adult, the recognition and approval rate of basic income remained at less than half. The analysis results showed that the various characteristics of the respondents could affect their awareness and attitude toward basic income. In addition, this study provided policy implications for major issues such as the negative impact on the labor market, indiscriminate consumption of basic income, and financing arrangements by tax. In order to enhance the possibility of introducing basic income, it is necessary to provide effective information taking into account the characteristics of respondents, and to activate social discussions on basic income continuously. This study is able to provide basic information necessary for policy design by investigating the social perception of basic income and its affecting factors.
