가치 형성 중심 초등 헌법교육을 위한 사례활용학습의 가능성과 의의

This study aims to explore possibilities of value formation-focused constitutional education theoretically and to devise a case-utilized learning method as a teaching method. Not only understanding of constitutional concept but also a motivation-enhancing learning method to internalize and practice diverse constitutional value is required in constitutional education in elementary schools. A case-utilized learning method is a method for constitutional education in elementary schools that a learner understands value of the constitution collecting and analyzing his or her own cases and other’s cases. In this process the learner gets to form constitutional value pondering its importance. In the case-utilized learning method, the cases are not regarded as just learning materials for motivation. The learner can form proper constitutional value and increase higher thinking skills and practice skills in the process of problem solving, utilizing his or her own cases. The learner recognizes, understands, judges, and applies the value in the process of collecting and analyzing the cases and problem solving. It leads to a series of constitutional value formation process, including expression of value; constitutional participation and practice. For this reason case-utilized learning serves as a suitable teaching and learning method for value formation-focused constitutional education in elementary schools.
