외부협력, 정부지원, 기업규모의 상호작용이 혁신 R&D 투자와 기업성과에 미치는 영향

[Purpose]The purpose of this study is to perform empirical analysis of the effects of external cooperation, government support, and firm size on R&D investments and corporate performance, and to explore related implications. [Methodology]To analyze the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance, and their influencing factors, which are external cooperation, government support, and firm size, this study proposed and tested eight hypotheses. Data was utilized from the 2018 Korea Innovation Survey; the software used in the analysis was PLS 3.0. [Findings]The results showed that first, innovation－related R&D investments had a positive effect on corporate performance. Second, external cooperation had no influence on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. Third, government support influenced the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. Fourth, firm size had an effect on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. Fifth, the interaction between external cooperation and firm size, government support and firm size, and external cooperation and government support had an effect on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. Sixth, the interaction among external cooperation, government support, and firm size had an effect on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. [Implications]The significance of this study lies in conducting a comprehensive analysis of the effects of external cooperation, government support, and firm size on the relationship between R&D investments and corporate performance. It is especially meaningful in that it analyzed the interaction among external cooperation, government support, and firm size.
