한국 신발기업의 해외직접투자 입지특성에 관한 사례연구

초록
신발산업은 우리나라의 전통산업으로서 그동안 경쟁력의 변화로 인하여 국내외적으로 투자의방향이 계속해서 변하고 있다. 특히 신발에 대한 국내 인건비의 상승 등으로 인하여 해외로진출하는 국내기업들이 많다. 처음부터 신발만 제조한 기업도 있고 사업다각화를 통하여 해외에서 신발을 생산하는 기업도 있다. 본 연구는 신발에 대한 해외직접투자와 신발 기업들의 해외 입지선정에 따른 제반 사항들에 대하여 사례를 통하여 고찰하였다. 본 연구는 문헌 연구와 각종 통계지표를 활용하여 연구를 진행하였다. 특히 국내 사례기업들의 현황과 특징에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 국내 주요 신발기업의 해외직접투자 특성은 입지결정의 가장 큰 요인이 저렴한 노동력의 확보이라는 것과, 최근 중국에서 베트남 및인도네시아로의 입지이전, 납기능력 강화 및 가격경쟁력 확보를 위한 입지 다변화, 기능별 분업화에 따른 개발과 생산기능의 입지 이원화를 들 수 있다. 또한 한국 신발기업의 해외투자는생산비용 절감을 위한 해외생산기지에 머무는 것이 아니라 현지 법인에 개발센터를 유치하는등의 노력을 통해 고부가가치부문에서 경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 노력이 필요하다는 시사점을 도출할 수 있다.
Abstract
Purpose : This study examines the case of foreign direct investment in shoes and the matters related to overseas location selection of shoe companies. Research design, data, methodology : This study used literature studies and various statistical indicators. In particular, it aims to provide implications on the current status and characteristics of domestic case companies. Results : The characteristics of foreign direct investment of major shoe companies are that securing the labor force is the most important factor, relocation from China to Vietnam and Indonesia, diversification of location, the dualization of the location of development and production functions. Conclusions : This result shows companies is not staying at overseas production bases to reduce production costs, but through efforts such as attracting development centers to local corporations, which can lead to suggestions that efforts should be made to become more competitive in the high value-added sector.
