글로벌 CSR과 사회·경제적 가치 창출: 유가증권 상장기업 비교 연구, 2004~2018년

This study presents the results of a systematic and comprehensive analysis of the emerging global CSR using a mixed methodology. We newly compiled a dataset by thoroughly surveying the current status of global CSR projects of the firms listed on the KOSPI stock market. Further we evaluated each project according to a framework that applies a CSV framework, such as utilizing core capabilities of company, supporting the vulnerable, establishing partnerships, supporting priority partner countries, and continuity of project. According to the evaluation results, companies were classified into upper, middle, and lower grades, and then case analyses were conducted. The number of global CSR projects of Korean listed firms is on the rise, and the quality level is also improving overall, but efforts to establish partnerships were found to be insufficient, and the quantity and quality of the projects tended to be inversely proportional. As a result of the case analysis, the high-grade, Samsung Electronics ‘Women’s vocational training Project’ in Ghana was highly evaluated with all indicators, while the mid-level, LG Electronics Bangladesh and Cambodia’s ‘Hope Family Projects’ rarely utilized the core competencies of the company. The low-grade, Hyundai Motor ‘Happy Move Youth Volunteer Group Project’ in Indonesia received low evaluation scores in terms of utilizing the company’s core competencies, establishing partnerships and continuity of the project. This study contributes to enhancing organizational and sociological understanding of the firms, and seeking the possibility of measurement and evaluation using the concept of CSV, thereby facilitating subsequent research.
