충북 지역 바이오산업의 발전을 위한 정책 연구 : 인적자원과 물적자원의 현황 및 과제를 중심으로

Biotech industry is one of the three main industries that the current administration focuses on and the regions including Chungbuk that have six biotechnology clusters are leading the biotech industry in Korea. In particular, it is more important to present policies for the development of the biotech industry in Chungbuk because a government-led biotechnology cluster exists in this region. This study was intended to discuss the ways to develop the biotech industry in Chungbuk from the perspective of human resources and physical resources. To this end, major theories and cases related to the biotech industry were reviewed, in-depth interviews were conducted with major stakeholders of the biotech industry in Chungbuk, and statistical data showing the performance of the biotech industry in Chungbuk were collected and analyzed. Through this study, it was intended to identify the strength and weakness of biotech industry in Chungbuk and to present the tasks to get over the weakness. The tasks needed to further develop the biotech industry in Chungbuk can be divided into following areas : regional research capabilities and manpower expertise, the ability to supply funds to small and medium-sized venture companies, start-up and incubating capabilities, inter- subject cooperation within the cluster, and regional settlement conditions.
