This study examined the statistical association between the perception and the ease of access to parental leave and the employee's intention to continue working in the social welfare facilities. The questionnaire was collected from all kinds of employees working in the social welfare facilities in Seoul and Gyeonggi area in South Korea. A total of 268 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. The study findings reported that 71.3% of the research participants were women; 47.8% were working level employees; and 89.3% were permanent employees. As a result of the hierarchical regression analyses on the examining the association between the perception and the ease of access to parental leave and the employee's intention to continue working, The perception of parental leave is not significantly associated with the intention to continue working, whereas the ease of access to parental leave is statistically associated. Furthermore, the employee's intention to continue working in the social welfare facilities was statistically influenced by the average monthly income and the job title. The parental leaves have the potential to stabilize the work force of social welfare sector in South Korea. Therefore, additional political and academical attention is necessary to maximize the ease of access to parental leaves.
