재택근무환경에서 비서의 업무 경험에 관한 연구

디지털경제 시대로의 전환이 더욱 가속화되는 시기에 많은 기업들에서는 새로운 일의 방식으로 원격근무를 고려하고 있다. 이에 상사와 물리적으로 한 공간에 존재하는 업무 환경이 너무나도 당연했던 비서직에서도 재택근무를 통해 어떠한 변화가 있을 것인가를 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 광의의 원격근무 개념에서 범위를 좁혀 물리적 공간의 분리가 완전히 이루어지는 재택근무의 형태만을 본 연구의 범위로 설정하여 재택근무환경에서 비서의 다양한 업무 경험들을 살펴보았다. 최소 2주 이상 재택근무를 수행한 현직비서를 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 실시하여 업무, 조직, 개인 차원의 총체적인 관점에서 주제분석을 통해 연구결과를 도출하였다. 업무 차원에서는 수행 가능하지만 변화가 나타난 업무와 수행이 불가한 업무로 나눌 수 있었으며, 변화가 있는 업무로는 전화 응대 업무, 회의 관련 업무, 보고 업무, 그리고 상사의 지시에 따른 업무가 나타났다. 조직 차원에서는 기술적 시스템의 도입, 조직 내 인간관계와 재택근무에 대한 인식에서의 변화가 나타났다. 마지막으로 개인 차원에서는 개인 시간이 늘어남에 따라 삶에 대한 전반적인 만족도가 높아졌으며, 재택근무환경에서 업무의 변화로 인해 비서로서의 향후 커리어에 불안을 느끼는 연구 참여자도 있었다. 본 연구는 비서를 대상으로 재택근무환경에서의 업무 경험을 살펴본 첫 연구로서 의의를 가지며, 추후 비서, 사무경영 및 교육 분야의 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
As the transition to the digital economy accelerates, many companies consider telework as their next way of working. It is necessary to explore the changes teleworking will bring in the working style of secretaries, where the environment was natural for them to work with the boss in one space. This study examined the secretary's teleworking experiences by narrowing the concept of teleworking in which the working space is completely separated. In-depth interviews were conducted with incumbent secretaries who worked at home for at least two weeks. Results from the thematic analysis were grouped into three levels: task, organization, and individual. The changes in task-level were divided into tasks that can be performed and cannot be performed, with the most changes observed in telephone tasks, meeting tasks, reporting tasks, and tasks performed under the boss’ direction. At the organizational level, changes included the introduction of new systems, relationships among colleagues, and the perception of teleworking. At the individual level, overall satisfaction in life rose, but the change in work with teleworking led to concerns in secretaries' careers. This study is the first to explore the secretary's experience in the telecommuting environment and is expected to be used as fundamental data in the field of secretary, office management, and education in the future.
