앞으로 도래하는 빅데이터 시대에 방대한 양의 데이터를 한 번에 파악하고 업무를 수행할 수 있도록돕는 데이터 시각화는 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 이런 상황에서 다양한 산업에서 대시보드의 활용도 증가하고있다. 중요한 업무에 대한 측정과 모니터링을 위한 정보관리 인터페이스인 대시보드는 데이터를 활용하는상황에서 시각화를 통해 사용자에게 즉각적인 통찰을제공함으로서 업무의 효율성을 높일 수 있게 돕는 역할을 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 데이터시각화를 통한 대시보드의 활용을 위한 디자인 연구를 진행하였다. 이론적 고찰을 통해 데이터와 대시보드의 유형을 파악하였다. 데이터 유형에 따른 대시보드 디자인의 분석을 통해대시보드 디자인 가이드라인을 시각적 측면과 UX적측면에서 접근하였다. 시각화 측면에서의 디자인 핵심요소로 그래프, 그리드시스템, 컬러, 텍스트, 아이콘을제안하였다. UX적 측면에서는 정보의 하이어라키, 내비게이션 시스템, 워크플로우, 일관성 및 작업 목적에맞는 대시보드의 구성을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서는 대시보드의 효과적인 데이터시각화를 위한 디자인가이드라인을 제시하였다. 이를 통해대시보드 활용성을 확장하고, 대시보드에 있어 디자인의 중요성을 강조하는데 본 논문의 의의가 있다.
Abstract
Processing data that can understand and perform vast amounts of data and functions from the user point of view at once will become important in the coming big data era. Dashboard,an information management interface for measuring and monitoring critical tasks, serves to help increase work efficiency by providing users with immediate insight through visualization in situations where data is utilized. This research identifies the types of data and dashboard through the data visualization and theoretical considerations of dashboard. The study defines graphs, grid systems, colors, text and icons as the design key elements in terms of visualization. It also defines the hierarchy of information, navigation system, workflow, consistency and composition as the design key elements in terms of UX perspective. This paper is meaningful in that it provides guidelines and expands usability for visualization, which is the most important factor in utilizing dashboard used in diverse fields.
