This study verifies the mediating effects of social capital and human capital on the relationship between economic capital and subjective happiness in middle-aged adults. In addition, we examine the single and double mediating effects of social capital and human capital (in order) to find out the movement of capital which can be helpful for promoting the happiness in middle-aged adults. A structural equation model analysis was performed by using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The findings are as follows. First, economic capital does not have a direct impact on subjective well-being. Second, in the relationship between economic capital and subjective well-being, social capital and human capital each have a single mediating effect. Third, in the relationship between economic capital and subjective well-being, social capital and human capital have double mediating effects. Fourth, in the relationship between economic capital and subjective happiness, the double mediating effects showed that the indirect impact from social capital to human capital was greater than the indirect impact from human capital to social capital. Based on these findings, we discussed the movement of capital that could improve the subjective well-being in middle-aged adults.
