부산지역 노인 문화예술여가활동을 지원하는 예비사회적기업의 지속경영 경험에 관한 사례연구 －부산 유일의 시니어 전용영화관, ㈜인생극장을 중심으로－

This qualitative case study is based on an in-depth interview with the social entrepreneur operating the only senior-only movie theater in Busan regarding the actual functions of senior movie theaters and the survival strategy of social enterprises in culture and the arts. The collected data were categorized under four categories, six subcategories, and 17 concepts. The categories were: the coexistence of the values and difficulties of the senior-only theater, changes for more sustainable management, their limitations, and the need for choice and help in these areas. It was found that, first, it is necessary to change the perception nationally regarding leisure activities for the elderly so that they may be carried out in more diverse areas than existing elderly social welfare facilities. Second, the national or local governments must provide support to companies that provide such social services so as to promote leisure activities for the elderly involving the film and art field, particularly classic movies. Third, more practical and realistic forms of support are needed to ensure the sustainability of the corporate operations of social enterprises in the field of culture and arts. Fourth, it is necessary to take administrative convenience into consideration when evaluating and supporting social enterprises. Fifth, it is necessary to create a system in which specific consultants are assigned to companies as responsibility gatekeepers to ease their conversion to social enterprises.
