한·미 FTA 개정협상이 국내 자동차 및 자동차 부품의 수출에 미치는 영향

The Korea-U.S. FTA has provided a major bridgehead for Korean automakers to enter the U.S. market, while raising new uncertainties with the implementation of the revised negotiations. The global automobile industry is undergoing a revolution under the banner of environmental protection, and domestic automakers are seeking ways to survive. However, it is extremely rare to analyze the impact of the Korea-U.S. FTA revision negotiations on domestic automobile exports. Therefore, this study conducted the Korea-U.S. FTA revision negotiations and research on domestic and foreign automobile industries, and conducted an empirical analysis using gravity model. To this end, the gravitational model was applied by collecting panel data combining cross-sectional data and time series data between 2012 and 2019, after the Korea-U.S. FTA took effect. As a result of the analysis, the Trade Specialization Index (TSI) showed sufficient explanation for domestic automobile exports, but there were insufficient parts by conducting research on a somewhat narrow range of countries.
