브렉시트 상황과 EU의 아시아 국가에 대한 국제통상법 패러다임 변화

The EU is trying to establish preferential trade agreements with Asian countries after the Korea-EU FTA. In this process, the EU tries to reflect so-called “European values” such as linking sustainability and trade. The EU is undergoing internal changes due to Brexit, and this situation will also change the trade environment for the EU, the UK and Asian countries. The Korea-UK FTA is considered to be a case in which Brexit stimulates the EU and Europe enlarge preferential agreements, since the UK and the EU will try to establish international trade laws with Asian countries by applying their respective standards. Just as the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement was signed to establish a new relationship between the EU and the UK in accordance with the trends of international trade law, the future Korea-UK FTA will be changed into a different form from the Korea-EU FTA. Just as the Korea-EU FTA has been a stimulus to induce countries in Asia to sign preferential agreements with the EU, the Brexit situation and the establishment of the Korea-UK FTA are inducing Asian countries to sign new preferential agreements. Furthermore, the content of other international laws by which Asia and Europe established and regulated the relationship between the two will be changed. An active attitude to respond appropriately and promptly to such changes is required, and more detailed research and suggestion of alternatives are required for this.
