초록
We study attempted to confirm the characteristics of Chinese culture based on the comparison of Hofstede’s na- tional culture types (power distance, individualism, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance, long-term orientation) for China, a global economic powerhouse. In preparation for China’s global economic status, comparative studies of Chinese culture using Hofstede’s cul- tural type were very lacking. Therefore, this study was to confirm the characteristics of each type by comparing and studying Chinese cultural characteristics based on Hofstede’s national cultural type. This study is differentiated from previous studies in that it applied theoretical and practical implications for the comparison of Chinese cultural characteristics through Hofstede’s cultural type. The main results expressed through the results of this study are as follows. First, the characteristics of the comparison of Hopsted’s cultural characteristics and the indexes of major countries were identified. Second, the characteristics of Chinese culture were confirmed based on the results of previous studies on the cultural characteristics of Hopsted. Third, it showed the similarities and differences in the cultural characteristics of Korea and China based on the comparison of Hopsted’s cultural characteristics. Fourth, the similarities and differences of corporate cultures in Korea and China were analyzed and presented. On the other hand, the main implications presented through this study are the addition of theoretical and practical implications for Chinese culture comparison. In addition, in the comparison of corporate organizational cultures between Korea and China, the commonalities of the Confucian foundation and differences in corporate value practice were identi- fied.
