현대 바이오디자인의 현상적 특성

This study aims to clarify the complex concepts of Bio Design recently growing in the design field and check the current status of approaches to the values at which it is oriented. For this purpose, this study assessed the characteristics of Bio Design in the present age, through a phenomenological exploration of the cases of Bio Design. First, through a literature review, investigated the meaning, concepts, and grammatical characteristics of Bio Design and extracted the attributes to understand the characteristics of Bio Design, taking them as the criteria for the selection of the types of Bio Design. In addition, as cases for analysis of phenomena, the range was set to those presented through leading international exhibitions and verified literature materials since 2000 to analyze its characteristics with the items, including ‘What of Bio,’ ‘Where in design,’ and ‘What for,’ of the attributes of Bio Design drawn in the literature review of 100 cases extracted. As a result of the study, this study proposed criteria with which the types of Bio Design could be classified and drew the types according to them. This study found that no clear meaning of Bio Design has not yet been settled and that limited approaches are made to the utilization of Bio although other elements like function and system, of the elements of nature, can be used sufficiently.
