[Purpose] Sustainable management has received more attention recently. The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the relationship between sustainability leadership (SL), sustainability management control system (SMCS), communication and management performance. [Methodology] We designed a research model based on prior research. To verify this, the survey was conducted on the nation’s top 400 listed manufacturers. Part 107 of the questionnaire was used for final statistical analysis, and hypothesis tests were conducted using the PLS Statistics Program. [Findings] The findings are as follows. First, SL has a significant impact on management performance, SMCS, and communication. Second, boundary systems have a significant impact on management performance, and interactive control has a significant impact on communication. Third, communication has a significant impact on management performance. [Policy Implications] The implications of the findings are as follows. Not only does SL directly affect management performance, but it can also indirectly affect management performance through communication with SMC. Additionally, the deployment and use of SMCS linked to SL and SL are important.
