주거공간 내 집중환경 조성을 위한 재택근무가구 디자인 제안

Background Telecommuting has increased due to the development of IT infrastructure system and the changes of social environment. Work-from-home trend still remains in its very early phase, but is expected to increase over the next decades. The purpose of this study is to design home office furniture for people who work at home. Methods For in-depth understanding of the market and environment, theoretical research of telecommuting was conducted. Through comprehensive analysis of previous studies, contents to be considered in terms of space and usage environment were extracted and design elements were derived. In addition, a survey was conducted for workers who are currently working from home to analyze actual users problems and needs. Results Based on the derived design elements and the results of the survey, the design direction was set as furniture that creates concentrating environment for telecommuters who have difficulty finding an independent space at home. The final design and details were confirmed by evaluating the design proposal through 3d rendering and considerations for each proposal. Specifications and layouts were set through functional, spatial utilization, and ergonomic analysis, Prototypes were made, expert evaluations were conducted, and problems were finally checked and improved. Conclusion This study is significant in creating a new category of home office furniture for telecommuters, and will continue to study furniture for various types of work environments in the future.
