초록
This study examines the relationship and interaction between telehealth and insurance. Recently, the need for non-face-to-face treatment or telehealth is increasing due to Covid-19. Telehealth is expected to grow exponentially, thanks to advances in IT and artificial intelligence techniques. Consequently, it is necessary to analyze this trend from the perspective of the insurance industry. Though telehealth may lead to increased utilization of health services, it will improve the health of policyholders and reduce mortality thereby improving the profit of insurance companies. Therefore, insurance companies are projected to actively utilize telehealth and encourage the insured to use it. This study analyzes the effect of telehealth on the profit and loss of insurance companies and suggests what incentives these companies can give to the insured.
