손해보험회사의 GA 채널 선택 요인과소비자보호에 미치는 영향

This study analyzes which characteristics of non-life insurance companies choose the GA and how the dependency affects consumer protection. The purpose of this study is to provide implications for the sales portfolio strategy of non-life insurance companies and policies related to consumer protection. This study is different from other studies as it is the first attempt. The data used for the empirical analysis are from the Financial Supervisory Service, the Korea Insurance Development Institute, and the Non-life Insurance Association's disclosure office. For the analysis method, a fixed-effect model or a random-effect model was employed through the Hausmann test in consideration of the characteristics of the panel data. As a result of the panel model analysis, factors affecting the proportion of the GA were expense ratio(+), loss ratio(-), long-term insurance ratio(+), and mis-selling ratio(+). It was analyzed that the high dependence on the GA had a negative effect on consumer protection. The above results suggest that the proportion of the GA should be lowered in relation to the channel portfolio strategy of non-life insurance companies, and that policy authorities should strengthen consumer protection measures for GA.
