조형예술 디자인 분야의 실질적인 창업 지원을 위한 기초연구 : 여성 창업자들과의 인터뷰를 중심으로

Networks ensure that entrepreneurial opportunities are plausible, motivate them to start their own business, and enable them to expand their business. It is necessary to establish a network for startup companies in arts and design and study effective support methods. The purpose of this study is to find ways to practically support startups in the field of arts and design by examining what kind of networks are currently helping startups and what founders need from networks, focusing on female entrepreneurs. The research method looked at previous studies on the definition and role of startup support networks, data on the status of one-person creative enterprises conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the case studies of startup support in art and design fields. Citing the survey of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, a preliminary survey was conducted for ten female founders, and based on the results, and in-depth interviews were conducted with five founders with major backgrounds in the field of formative arts and design. As a result of the interview, the founders received assistance acquiring business information, product service development, and administrative procedures from nearby acquaintances such as spouses, family, relatives, or friends. Besides, further support was needed in the financing, offices and workspaces, business feasibility analysis, public relations, and marketing, while assistance was relatively less needed in management education, human resources acquisition, technology development, and selection of business type. In addition, the participants answered that they are currently experiencing difficulties due to intensifying competition among companies and that support for the production of prototypes is the most necessary part of the formative arts and design startups field. In the future, to help female entrepreneurs with active network participation, a normative comparative analysis study that can prove the difference with male entrepreneurs based on a hypothesis divided by startup stages from preliminary and early startup stages to survival and stabilization stages should be followed.
