직접관찰법을 이용한 문학관광 관람자의 관람동선 및 관람행태 분석: 김유정문학촌을 대상으로

This study analyzed tourist circulation and behavior at the literary village of Kim You Jeong in Chuncheon, South Korea. The village was chosen as it is one of the representative literary tourism sites in South Korea. It consists of the birthplace of the writer, the place where the writer lived, and it was the background of his works. The study used direct observation of visitors’ circulation and behavior tracking based on David Dean’s visitor traffic-flow model and Judy Diamond’s muse-ethogram. The results showed that the main tourist flows of the study areas are suggested approach for indoor exhibitions and unstructured approach for outdoor exhibitions. As for tourist behavior, moving while looking (ML), stopping (ST), moving (M), talking to others (TK), stopping and looking (SL), reading (RE) and photographing (PH) had the highest frequency. Although reading was a high-frequency behavior, it was lower than moving while looking, stopping, moving, talking to others, and stopping and looking. This indicates the difference between the purpose of text-based literature reading and the behavior of experiencing literary tourism destinations. This study finds new behaviors showed by the visitors in literary tourism sites: hand washing (HW) and looking at smartphone (LS). This paper offers implications for planning and design guidelines for literary tourism sites related to exhibition circulation, visitor behavior, and the development of contents.
