본 연구는 디지털 정보역량이 여가 기회 확대와 여가만족, 나아가 삶의 만족에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 이에 대한 연령의 조절 효과를 분석하고자 하였다. ‘2020 디지털 정보격차 실태조사’ 자료를 사용하여 연구모형을 분석한 결과, 디지털 정보역량 수준은 여가활동 기회 확대에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여가 기회 확대는 전반적인 여가생활 만족에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고, 여가만족은 삶의 만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 디지털 정보역량과 여가 기회 확대의 관계는 연령 집단에 따라 유의한 차이를 보여 조절 효과가 확인되었다. 청장년층과 비교하여 노년층에서 디지털 정보역량의 영향이 유의하게 낮아지는 것으로 나타나, 노년층은 디지털기기를 통해 확보한 정보를 여가생활의 질을 높이는 데 충분히 활용하지 못하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이는 세대별 디지털 정보격차가 기본적인 정보 접근성에서 정보 활용성으로 이동하였음을 보여준다. 본 연구는 소비자의 디지털 정보역량이 여가 자원으로서 중요성을 지니고 있음을 확인함으로 여가 자원 이론의 범위를 확장하고 디지털 정보역량 격차 연구가 체계적으로 발전할 수 있도록 정보를 제공한다는 점에서 학술적 의미를 지닌다. 나아가 디지털 정보 활용도가 상대적으로 낮은 노년층의 역량을 제고하고 여가와 삶의 질을 향상하기 위한 실무적 시사점을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effect of digital information competency on expansion of leisure opportunity, leisure satisfaction, and life satisfaction, and the moderating effect of age. Research model was analyzed using data from ‘2020 Digital Information Gap Survey,’ and it was found that digital information competency has a significant effect on expansion of leisure opportunities. Expansion of leisure opportunities had a positive effect on leisure satisfaction, which influenced life satisfaction. The relationship between digital information competency and leisure opportunities showed a significant difference according to age group, confirming the moderating effect. The effect of digital information competency was significantly lower in the elderly, and it is understood that the elderly do not fully utilize digital information to improve the quality of leisure life. This shows that digital divide by generation has shifted from information accessibility to information utilization. By confirming the importance of digital information competency as a major leisure resource, this study provides academic implications to expand the scope of leisure resource theory and to support systematic development of digital literacy research. Finally the implications to enhance the competencies of the elderly to improve the quality of leisure life were suggested.
