디자인 프로세스에 따른 대학의 디자인 교과 과정에 대한 현황 분석과 교육 방향에 대한 제언 -미국과 한국의 학부과정 산업디자인 전공을 중심으로-

Design education in universities is also being required to change in this new era, new industries and new design paradigms. The design thinking process, which discovers changes in the world and develops user-centered solutions, is contributing to corporate management through innovative new product development, leading not only design organizations but also related departments. The purpose of this study is to discover the limitations and suggest implications of the current curriculum by analyzing the design curriculum of universities around the world based on the design process. To this end, first, I studied design paradigms, changes in designer roles and design thinking processes through desk research. Second, I found common steps of design progress and contents of the processes by comparing and analyzing the design processes used in industry and academia. Third, I found some characteristics of each curriculum and differences between curriculum of universities and suggested implications for future development for new design curriculum by comparing and analyzing the design curriculum of universities around the world according to the design process. This study expects to play a role as a basic research paper for the development of new design curriculum models of universities design education in the same direction as industrialization in changing the new design paradigm in the new industrial era.
