코로나19 이후 기업의 R&D투자는 생존을 위한 필수투자로 인식되고 있다. 본 연구는 코로나19(COVID-19)와 같은 국가 경제위기 시 R&D 투자가 기업경영 성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 기업 재무회계데이터를 기초로 PCA를 통 한 민감성 벡터요소의 상관관계, 이론부호, 평가지표 및 부문 비중 비교 등 4단계를 걸쳐 R&D스코어를 산출하였고, COVID-19가 R&D스코어에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 지역별로 보면 전체적으로 글 로벌 금융위기(2009년), 유럽재정위기(2012년) 상황 시 전반적으로 하락하는 것으로 나타났다. 경기가 악화될 경우 전남, 광주, 세종, 인천, 경남, 충북지역이 충격을 가장 크게 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 평균보다 낮은 제조업 비중 때 문이다. 다음으로 업종별로 보면 중소기업 비중이 높은 제조업, 경기민감업종인 임대서비스업, 여가서비스업 등의 하락 폭은 매우 크게 나타났고, 이는 소상공인·자영업자의 주력업종이 집중되었기 때문이다. 이와 같은 취약업종은 금리가 인상되거나 영업이익이 감소할 경우 한계기업 비중이 상승할 것으로 예상되어 구조조정 등의 적극적인 정책대응이 필 요하다.
Abstract
After Covid-19, R&D investment in companies has been recognized as an essential investment for survival. This study examined the affects of R&D investment on corporate management performance during the national economic crisis such as COVID-19. The main research results are as follows. If the economy worsen, the most affected area would be Jeonnam, Gwangju, Sejong, Incheon, Gyeongnam, and Chungbuk area. It is because of the proportion of manufacturing industries that are lower than average. Nextly if you see by industry, declination of manufacturing industries that have high proportion of SMEs, rental service and lesiure service industries that are sensitive to the economy shows very highly. And this seem to be because of concentration of small business owners and self-employed businesses. Vulnerable industries like this are expected to see an increase in the proportion of marginal companies when interest rates rise at the time operating profit decreases, so active policy responses such as restructuring are needed.
