필자는 ‘배제’와 ‘포용’에 대한 이분법적인 가치평가의 틀에서 벗어나 ‘배제’와 ‘포용’을 ‘살’의 분열과 증식이라는 ‘살’의 운동성의 틀 속에서 바라보고자 한다. ‘살’에 의해서 추동되는 ‘살’의 운동성은 하나가 둘이 되는 ‘살’의 분열과 둘이 하나가 되는 ‘살’의 증식의 배타적 순환 구조의 틀 속에서 이루어지는 자기완성을 위한 로고스적 운동이라고 할 수 있다. 이런 점에서 ‘살’의 분열의 원리인 ‘배제’와 ‘살’의 증식의 원리인 ‘포용’ 역시 서로 단절된 채로 작동하는 개별적인 두 가지 원리가 아니라 서로 이어진 채로 작동하는 생명변화의 하나의 쌍으로 규정된다. ‘배제’와 ‘포용’의 상관성에 대한 필자의 이러한 관점은 ‘배제’와 ‘포용’이 우리가 살고 있는 시대성과 무관하지 않음을 시사한다. 이것은 우리가 살고 있는 시대성과 결부되어 그 시대성이 요구하는 태도로서의 의미를 지닌다. 우리는 애매하고 결핍되어 있기에 ‘배제’를 통한 타자출현을 통해서 자기 자신의 한계를 목격할 수 있고, 그러한 자기 자신의 한계를 포용함으로써 자기 자신을 확충하고 확장할 수 있다.
Abstract
Not estimating between ‘exclusion’ and ‘inclusion’ in dichotomous thinking, the author analyzes the relation between ‘exclusion’ and ‘inclusion’ on the basis of Merleau-Ponty’s flesh. Flesh’s movement moved by flesh is likely to be logocentric movement for self-perfection in exclusive circulation structure of ‘flesh’s division’ and ‘flesh’s proliferation’. In this context, the ‘exclusion’ as the principle of ‘flesh’s division’ and ‘inclusion’ as the principle of ‘flesh’s proliferation’ are not the individual two principles but a paired thing for life change. This author’s position about the relation between ‘exclusion and ‘inclusion’ suggests that ‘exclusion’ and ‘inclusion’ are related with the trend of the times when we live. This has the meaning as the attitude demanded by the trend of times when we live. In other words, a possibility given us as ambiguous and lack being is likely to be the practice of the attitude in coordinate with life change movement for life perfection.
