Study on the Influence of Book Cover Design Elements on Parents' Choice of Children's Picture Book

With the continuous development of society. The new generation of parents live in the stage of rapid social development. They are often well educated and easier to accept new things. They are more willing to spend time and energy on the education of their children and provide them with high-quality educational resources and learning environment. Therefore, in recent years the market of children's picture books continues to show a rising trend and children's picture books occupy an increasingly important position in the book market. Parents will choose picture books for their children as an important means of learning the enlightenment stage. For parents, when choosing picture books, their first impression will directly affect their purchase intention. Therefore this study aims to analyze the influence of picture book cover design elements on parents' choice preference and provide theoretical reference for the developers and designers of children's picture books. Based on theoretical investigation and questionnaire survey. This study collected data and analyzed it with SPSS statistical analysis software to verify relevant research hypotheses. The research results and contents are as follows :First, Cover design elements of children's picture books are mainly divided into six dimensions: namely illustration, material, information, color, font and typesetting. Second, This study also combines consumer psychological theory and analyzes the preferences of parents when they purchase the book. The Font Elements, Color Elements and Information Elements will have a significant forward impact on the Professional Functional Requirements of parents. Material Elements and Information Elements will have a significant forward impact on the Use Safety Requirements of parents. Font Elements and Illustration Elements will have a significant forward impact on parents' Design Appearance Requirements. Illustration Elements, Typographic Elements and Information Elements will have a significant forward impact on parents' Cost Performance Requirements.
