COVID-19로 인하여 세계인은 이전과는 전혀 다른 일상을 경험하며 그에 적응 중이다. 더불어 실물경제와자본시장에도 다방면으로 강력한 영향을 미쳤다. COVID-19는 그 전에 발생하였던 금융위기들에 비하면발생 원인과 자본시장에 미친 영향 및 전파 과정 등에서 큰 차이를 보인다. 이에 본 연구는 팬데믹 기간및 팬데믹 전후 기간의 보수주의 회계처리에 대하여 전반적으로 관찰하였다. COVID-19 팬데믹 상황은 이전의 금융위기들과는 원인 및 반응이 다소 상이하였으나 위기상황 및 그 이후 보수주의 수준이 높아진다는결과는 동일함을 확인하였다. 결국 유가증권 시장에서는 팬데믹 시점부터 보수주의 회계처리 정도를 좀 더신속히 반영하는 경향이 보이며 코스닥 시장은 한 분기 정도 늦어지기는 하였으나 결국 팬데믹 이후 보수주의의 정도가 올라가는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 팬데믹 기간 및 위기상황 전후 기간의 보수주의 회계처리에 대하여 코스피 시장과 코스닥 시장을 나누어 자본시장 전체에 대하여 검토했다는 데에 그 차별점이 있다고 하겠다.
Abstract
Due to COVID-19, people around the world experience a completely different life and are adapting to it. In addition, it had a strong impact on the real economy and the capital market in many ways. Compared to the financial crises that occurred before, COVID-19 shows a difference in the cause of its occurrence, its impact on the capital market, and the process of its spread. Therefore, this study observed the conservatism accounting in the period before and after the pandemic as well as in that period. The COVID-19 pandemic was somewhat different in cause and response from previous financial crises, but it was confirmed that the result of the crisis and the increased level of conservatism thereafter was the same. In the end, the securities market tends to reflect the degree of accounting conservatism more quickly from the time of the pandemic, and although the KOSDAQ market was delayed by about a quarter, it was found that the degree of conservatism increased after the pandemic. The contribution of this study is that it reviewed the entire capital market by dividing the KOSPI market and the KOSDAQ market with respect to conservatism.
