도시 재생 BI디자인의 유니버설사인디자인 시스템 적용

초록
국가의 주력 산업의 흥망성쇠와 인구 감소로 인해 낙후된 도시들이 생겨났다. 오랜 세월 동안 정체된 도시의 변화에 적합한 유니버설사인 시스템의 적용 계획은 과거의 역사와 미래의 도약을 위해 디자인 콘셉트가 매우 중요하다. 도시 재생을 위한 까막마을 BI(Brand Identity)디자인은 주민의 설문조사와 환경조사 및 디자인 요소들의 이미지 맵 분석과 전개를 통하여 기존의 유니버설디자인 7원칙과‘지속성’,‘친밀성’,‘쾌적성’이 추가된 유니버설디자인 10원칙에 대한 감성적 원칙이 접목되었을 때, 까막마을의 BI디자인은 도시재생을 구축해 낼 수 있다고 보았다. 까막마을처럼 도시 재생이 필요한 지역은 타 지역보다 고령화가 매우 빠른 속도로 가속화되고 있다. 따라서 안전하고, 이해가 쉬운 사인디자인 시스템의 필요성을 제시하고자 하였다. 관찰한 3개월에 걸친 현장답사와 설문조사를 바탕으로‘까막마을의 BI 디자인’과 주변 재래시장인‘전두시장’픽토그램의 개발을 통하여 유니버설사인 시스템’구축을 하였다. 까막마을의 BI디자인에는 마을 이름인 까막마을을 점자로 표기함으로써 유니버설디자인의 마을임을 시각적으로 전달하고, 픽토그램에서는 일반인, 저시력자, 약시자, 고령자, 색각이상자 등 모든 계층의 사람들이 차별감 없이 지각할 수 있는 시스템이 적용되어야 하므로 시인성을 가장 중요하게 판단하였다. 따라서 그림과 배경의 명도차를 크게 하는 즉, 명도대비 5단계이상의 장조구성에 의한 시인성 확보와 시뮬레이션을 통해, 픽토그램의 명시성이 분명하다는 것을 제시할 수 있었다. 픽토그램의 형태는 신뢰를 상징하는 사각형태와 화합과 조화를 상징하는 원형이 융합된 형이며, 동일한 형태를 수직으로 반복·결합하고, 가독성이 높은 고딕계의 텍스트를 병행 표기함으로써 유니버설사인시스템의 기준을 제시할 수 있었다.
Abstract
Cities have been underdeveloped due to the rise and fall of the nation's main industries and rapid population decline. The plan to build a universal sign system suitable for changes in cities that have been stagnant for many years is very important for strategic planning for the past history and future leap forward and design concept. The brand identity (BI) design of Kamak Village for urban regeneration can be constructed when the 7 principles of universal design, 'sustainability', 'friendliness', and 'comfort' are combined through resident surveys, environmental observations, and image map analysis and development of design elements. Areas that require urban regeneration, such as Kamakdongne are accelerating at a much faster pace than other regions. Accordingly, the desperate need for a safe and easy-to-understand private design system was presented through the results of the observation survey. In order to apply the "Universal Sign System of Kamak Village," based on a three-month on-site survey and survey observed while living in the actual area, it was applied to the establishment of an accessible "Universal Sign System of Kamak Village" through the development of BI Design of Kamak Village and the surrounding traditional market. In the BI design of Kamak village, the village name, Kamak Village, is written in Braille simultaneously to visually convey that it is universal designed village, and in the pictogram, visibility was judged as the most important because universal sign design system that could be perceived without discrimination by people of all classes such as the general public, low vision, the elderly, and color blind people, should be applied. Therefore, it was possible to suggest through this study that clarity of the pictogram was clear through simulation and securing visibility by contrasting the brightness of 5 or more levels by increasing the brightness difference between the picture and the background. In addition, the shape of the pictogram is fusion of a rectangle symbolizing trust and a circle symbolizing harmony and combination. By repeating and combining the same shape vertically with a high-readable Gothic type, the standard of the universal sign system can be presented.
