지역사회 연계 캡스톤디자인 수업개선 방안 연구- 시각디자인 수업 운영사례를 중심으로 -

Not only do local universities provide education, but they also perform a pivotal role in regional development. For revitalizing local industries and fostering the practical talent, industry-university education needs to be diversified and expanded. This study aims to develop and run a community-connected capstone design instruction, verify its effectiveness. Based on the opinions of the students, instructional improvement plan is derived. Based on literature reviews, characteristics of community-connected capstone design were extracted and applied to instructional design. Also, pre-post experiments were conducted with students, who participated in the class to examine problem-solving skills, collaborative self-efficacy and class satisfaction, and By taking into account the needs of students, qualitative contents analysis was conducted to devise instructional improvement for the future. Capstone design subject run by a university results showed that students’ problem-solving skills did not significantly change, but their collaborative self-efficacy through team activities improved and their class satisfaction was relatively high at 4.01 points. Then qualitative data, were analyzed to see specific factors of effective instruction management and develop improvement plans. To improve this issue, it is required to provide sufficient feedback time by strengthening one-to-one mentoring, adjust the difficulty of problems and reinforce a class management support system. It is anticipated that the instructional improvement suggested by this study would serve as basic data for future development of community-connected capstone design.
