Abstract
The purpose of this study is to present a startup readiness as a performance factor that can vary depending on the individual efforts of a small business entrepreneur, and to propose a theoretically valid small business startup performance model by examining the structural causal relationship between each sub-factor. To this end, a research model was established to predict the structural causal relationship between the sub-factors constituting the start-up readiness of small business owners and startup performance, and the PLS-structural equation analysis was tested based on the raw data of the "2019 Small Business Survey" released in 2020. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the startup preparation implement (SPI) of small business entrepreneurs completely mediated the startup preparation importance recognition (SPIR) and had a positive effect on start-up performance (EP). In this causal relationship, a structural relationship was verified that same industry experience (SIE) strengthens startup preparation (SPI) by interaction with startup importance recognition (SPIR), and preparation period (PP) strengthens entrepreneurial performance (EP) by interaction with startup preparation implement (SPI). In addition, it has been proven that the moderating variables such as same industry experience (SIE) and preparation period (PP) moderate the mediating effect of performance (SPI), that is, a moderated mediating effect. In this study, the implications of the study can be found in that it re-examined the importance of the startup preparation process and empirically proved it in relation to the business success of small business owners, where 'startup without preparation' is pointed out as the biggest problem. In addition, it is expected that the results of this study can serve as insight into entrepreneurship support and education for small business startup support staff.
