학생 자치 참여가 민주적 가치에 대한 신념에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 학생 자치 참여가 학생들의 민주적 가치에 대한 신념에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한 연구이다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원의「2018 청소년 역량지수 조사」자료를 활용하여, 전국의 초등학교 4~6학년, 중학교 1~3학년, 고등학교 1~3학년 1,674명의 자료를 분석하였다. 학생 자치 참여를 학생회 및 동아리 활동을 중심으로 이루어지는 역할 수행 정도와 문제 해결에서의 의견 표명 정도로 나누고 두 요인이 민주적 가치에 대한 신념에 미치는 영향을 통계적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 통계적 검증을 위해 다중 회귀 분석을 실시하였으며, 분석 결과 역할 수행 정도는 학생의 민주적 가치에 대한 신념에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 확인되었으며, 문제 해결에서의 의견 표명 정도는 학생들의 민주적 가치에 대한 신념에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이에 따라 학생 자치 활동 안에서 학생들이 민주적이고 협력적인 의사결정 과정을 거치는 것이 중요함을 보여준다. 학생 자치 활성화를 위해서는 학생들의 참여만을 독려할 것이 아니라 학생 자치 내에서 실질적으로 민주적인 의사소통을 할 수 있는 다양한 방식들이 논의될 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study is to investigate the effect of student participation in self-governance activities on the belief for democratic value. In order to empirically verify this effect, this study has used the data from the <2018 Youth Competency Index Survey> published by the National Youth Policy Institute. This study has established the sub hypothesis by setting the degree of role performance and the degree of expression of opinions in problem solving of a student participation in self-governance activities. In order to answer the research questions, this study has analyzed the data from the NYPI, which has been derived as a result of the survey conducted on 1,674 students. The results of these analyses are as follow : First, the degree of role performance has not impact on the belief for democratic value. Second, the degree of expression of opinions in problem solving has impact on the belief for democratic value. It implies that it is important for students to actively participate democratic and cooperative decision-making processes in self-governance activities.
