Purpose: This study examined the effects of empathy, cultural competency, and social responsibility on multicultural acceptance in university students. Methods: Data collection was performed from Mar. 2nd to Mar. 21st 2022. One hundred and fifty-four university students were selected in Gyeongsangnam-do. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffeʹ test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple stepwise regression analysis using SPSS 25.0. Results: Multicultural acceptance was positively correlated with empathy (r=.32, p<.001), cultural competency (r=.45, p<.001), and social responsibility (r=.41, p<.001). The factors influencing multicultural acceptance were cultural competency (β=.36,p<.001), empathy (β=.17, p<.021), and sex (β=.14, p=.046). These factors accounted for 24.3% of the multicultural acceptance (p<.001). Conclusion: Cultural competency, empathy, and sex are important factors affecting the multicultural acceptance of university students. Based on this, an educational program that can positively change multicultural acceptance is needed for multicultural acceptance.
