산업별 시장규모 추정을 위한 통계지수 활용 가능성에 대한 연구: 국내 산업별 통계 데이터를 활용한 패널 데이터분석을 중심으로

This study analyzes the possibility of using various public statistical data currently being announced for timely estimation of the market size by industry and apply it to actual cases to demonstrate the applicability of estimating the market size at a time when the survey results were not yet published. We estimated the shipment values of the manufacturing sub-industries classified by Korean Standard Industrial Classification(KSIC). The market size for each industry announced by the Statistics Korea has the advantage that the results are highly reliable, but there is a limitation that data from two years ago is the most recent data later than the present. So it is insufficient to timely understand the change in market size due to sudden changes such as COVID-19. Therefore, a methodology for estimating the market size for each industry in the KSIC using economic indicators is presented, and the indicators such as the Manufacturing Shipment Index and the Service Production index are analyzed by panel data analysis. As a result, it can be concluded that it is feasible to estimate the current market size for the changed market conditions by using public statistical data.
